Last month I decided to try Audbile. The free book I chose to try it out with was I've Got Your Number by: Sophie Kinsella. I also tried out Wally Roux, Quantum Mechanic by: Nick Carr.
Overall I really enjoyed Audible's service. Never had problems with listening to the books, or any interruptions with listening to the books. The only real issue I found with it is the $15.00 price tag that comes with it every month, and I am not an audio book person anyways, so that was not going to happen. However, if you guys are Audio books junkies, or have jobs which cause you to travel a lot, and want to still enjoy a good book, then this might be the service for you. :) Overall my thoughts on Audible is that it is a good service, with good quality content, and various genres and titles for you to choose from. Two thumbs up. :)
Onto the Audible books reviews!!!
The first one I listened to was I've Got Your Number, and overall it was a good book, however I had some issues with it that annoyed me so so much. So, here we go.
The good things I liked about the story was the romantic plot between Poppy and the broody business man with a heart of gold. It is definitely not a deep piece of literature, it is light and fluffy with funny moments. For the most part I liked this story, even though it was predictable at times. I still liked it for the entertainment it was. I would recommend it to people who is in the mood for a good Romantic Comedy.
The bad points to this story was Poppy's inner dialogue and saying "footnote" WAY too many times!!!! The other issue I had was not with the story itself, but with the Audio part. The actress they had to read this story and play all the parts, was a little annoying. Her voice was too high pitched and squeaky for my taste. I almost stopped listening to it during the first ten minutes, however the story was too entertaining to stop and after a while I got used to listening to her voice.
At the end of the day I liked this book, gave it four stars on Goodreads, and I think people who want a cute romantic comedy type story, then you should check it out.
The next book was Wally Roux, Quantum Mechanic by: Nick Karr. I loved this audio book!!!! I loved the actor who was really good at playing all the different parts in this story, as well as the sound effects. I recommend this audio book to anyone!!!! It's a story about an African American boy who believes he is a Quantum Mechanic and enters a different dimension where his dad didn't give him up for adoption, and see how different his life would be with him rather than his adoptive mother. I don't want to spoil anything. So that is all I will say! Go and check it out, you will not be disappointed!!! :)
That is my reviews on Audible, and the books I listened to.
I will see you in the next post.
Happy Reading! :)
