June and July Reading Wrap-Up!!!

Writer's picture: Kendra's CornerKendra's Corner

In June I read some great books, as well as some that weren't (which were books for school). Since I found the school books to be dull I won't be putting all of them on here, the only one I will put on here is, Persuasion by: Jane Austen, the only one I enjoyed and finished this semester. :)

I'll put the books in the order of how I rated them on Goodreads.

1. One Day In December by: Josie Silver, I gave this one five stars. It was sweet, funny and a nice summer read. :)

2. Persuasion by: Jane Austen, I gave this novel four stars. It was pretty good, with only a few dull moments. I did like the second chances at love and life theme that played out during the entire story.

3. The Golden Hour by: Beatriz Williams, this one was a three star read. The story was too drawn out, the pace was slow, and the end was anti climactic. It was entertaining, but not a book I will be picking up again anytime soon.

Overall a pretty good reading month. :)

In July I had more time and read more books.

1. Dark Disciple by: Christie Gold, I gave this one five stars. The characters were interesting, the plot flowed well, the overall story line was entertaining and fast paced, I loved the romance and redemption story, I also enjoyed Obi-wan and Anakin being in the story as well.

2. All You Desire by: Kirsten Miller, was a four star read for me. It was exciting, with interesting plot, and the love triangle was good. I wasn't a fan of the main character and a few plot holes I get into in my review.

3. Things You Save In A Fire by: Katherine Center, was a three star book. The book comes out on the 13th, so I'll be adding more details on why I gave it three stars in my review.

4. Again, But Better by: Christine Riccio, was three stars as well. Mainly because the first half of the book was uninteresting to me. It started as a two star and then went to three stars because the ending picked up and I was left satisfied.

5. The Winter Sister by: Megan Collins was a solid two star for me. I explain why in my review, but basically the story line was dull, the characters didn't evolve much throughout the story and the mystery aspect wasn't what I was expecting.

6. Golden State by: Ben H. Winters, was also a two star book to me. Mainly because I found it confusing at times and should've been longer to have more explanations in the story.

This month I read more books, and I thought the material was pretty decent. :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful day, and if you all want more of my thoughts on these books, my reviews are in the blog page below this post.

Hope you enjoyed this, and if you did give it a like, comment and subscribe.

Happy Reading! :)
